Ariel Xinyu Peng (they/she) is a bilingual writer and teacher and all of those things on the left. Shanghai is their hometown, and they are currently trying to live and breathe in New York. They hold a BA in literature from NYU and an MFA in creative nonfiction from Columbia University. Their work can be found on Reed Magazine and Shanghai Daily. They can also be found at Mother Tongue Journal. Ariel’s work sheds light on the urban life, queerness, language, neurodiversity, and the quest for truth, while addressing the danger of xenophobia in institutions. They will always have a meme.
